Location: Glasgow, UK (Hybrid)

Salary: £35,000-£40,000 DOE

About Bitbloom

At Bitbloom we provide software that helps owners and operators of renewable energy projects around the world to ensure their assets are operating to their full potential. Since our launch in 2019 we have grown organically at a steady rate and secured ongoing commercial contracts with some of the largest owners and operators of renewable assets in Europe, and through this have gained a reputation of excellence and reliability. We are now seeking a Software QA Tester to join us as we enter the next phase of our growth.

What you will be doing:

As a Software QA Tester you will be an integral part of our close-knit team where your expertise will be valued and pivotal in maintaining our software's high standards. The successful candidate will be a diligent individual who understands the importance of delivering top-notch software for the best user experience. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the quality, performance and usability of software that facilitates operation and improvement of gigawatts of renewable energy across the globe

  • Develop and execute test plans, both independently and in collaboration with the wider product team

  • Proactively identify and document unexpected software behaviours through exploratory testing

  • Work with the development team at implementation time to ensure a “shift left” testing approach is followed

  • Design and maintain automation test frameworks integrated with our CI/CD pipeline to facilitate rapid deployment of high quality software

  • Help oversee software releases, including QA, documentation, release notes, risk management and post-release monitoring

  • Form a key part of the support function, verifying and triaging support requests

  • Ensure QA best practices are upheld and stay updated with industry trends

Your qualifications, skills and experience:

Essential:

  • 3+ years’ experience working in a software testing role

  • Excellent knowledge of testing best practices

  • Good scripting ability (Python desirable but not essential)

  • Experience working with CI/CD systems (e.g. TeamCity, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines)

  • Good communication skills

  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

  • Experience with a cloud environment e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP

  • Experience testing web applications built in React

  • Testing AI & ML applications

  • Use of Linux
